Ellen & Michael 1967
Two voices, two guitars. - Ellen & Michael

My first band, in the early seventies, was the acoustic duo 'Ellen & Michael'.

In 1977, I teamed up with my friend Charles Dumolin to form 'Lester & Denwood'.

After playing with a series of different bands in the eighties, I started playing solo at all kinds of events in the early nineties. I call these shows 'Denwood unplugged', 'Live music à la carte' or 'One man - one hundred songs'.

From a list of more than one hundred titles, the audience can choose their favourite songs. They can even sing along: the lyrics and a microphone are provided.

On the road, I met many musicians and friends, and the love of music did the rest. 'Denwood & Friends' was born.

In 1995, I recorded the album 'Denwood & Friends' at the AHA studio in Ghent and the JET studio in Brussels. The CD contains 14 original songs:

The CD also features Alides Hidding (Time Bandits), who arranged the album, Fernand Buyls, Mahir Tezerdi, Laszlo Olah, Walter Stes, Fotis Anessiadis, Peter Peyskens, Ingrid Van Lancker, Patrick De Witte, Peter Heylebroeck, Paul Neels, Robin Lindberg, Johan De Wolf, Brechtje Carpentier and Leen Vanhecke.

They played, they inspired me, they were the driving forces. Thanks to all!
